Inspiring Wanderlust

It seemed a bit odd to publish an introduction a day after I made an actual blog entry. Nevertheless, better late than never.

To be honest, I have always been a bit reserved when it comes to posting publicly on social networking sites. I never felt the need to put myself out there, I suppose that is attributable to the fact that I was indifferent to most topics. But it’s time I kicked myself out of my comfort zone.

I’m a 20 something guy with a passion for travel. The uncertainty of it all – getting lost in an unfamiliar place, missing a connection, lost baggage and having to survive with just one or no change of clothes, meeting people from different backgrounds- is what really gets me going. 

The travel bug is common but deadly. Bitten once, hooked for life. There’s absolutely no turning back. Everything you’ve known up till this point just fades away leaving you with all the freedom in the world to expand your horizons.

My goal is simple. It is to make you experience the joy of traveling, to help you see the world through my eyes.

If I have managed to instil the sense of wanderlust even in ONE person, I would consider this venture a grand success.

  1. What you say about the uncertainty is exactly what I love about traveling too! It’s not about seeing things on a list, it is the unexpected that makes traveling really addictive. Hope you’ll keep on with your blog even if your not an extensive user of social networks otherwise.

      And I completely agree with you, a list makes it no different from a routine job or duty.

  3. My boyfriend loves all that uncertainty too! Don’t get me wrong, I love to travel and see new places, but I’m the planner who freaks out and panics and gets scared when things don’t go to plan! Maybe following your travels might help me let go and loosen up a bit! (I probably need it!) 🙂

    • Haha, you remind me of a buddy of mine. We had to take a bus from Venice to Vienna but the bus didn’t show up on time. He panicked so much that he was completely disoriented and kept dropping stuff on the floor for about 10 minutes after boarding. Lol.

      Anyway, to each his own 🙂

  4. One of my happiest experiences was arriving in France and discovering the signs were all in French. Somehow I hadn’t expected that. My husband and I had a wonderful time getting around, getting lost, and meeting some lovely people who gave us directions in several languages. And the food!

  6. I have always wanted to travel,yet never seemed to get the motivation to actually do it ( I don’t even have a passport) I have a feeling that reading your blog might just be the inspiration I need.

    • Alright! Don’t let the passport stop you. Travel doesn’t always have to be to a foreign land. You never know, your biggest adventure might come from an isolated road nearby which you never gave a second thought or glance 🙂

  8. Hello! You can’t tell you are new…your blog is looking great so far! It seems the Twenty Fourteen theme lends itself very well to travel based blogs. I’m struggling to decide which theme would work for mine, it’s hard isn’t it? Anyway, looking forward to reading more posts. 😀
